'Virgin Oak Finish is a vatting of lightly peated single malt whisky initially matured in first fill ex-bourbon barrels and then finished for several months at a lower ABV in virgin American oak barrels (with a range of toast and char levels).'
Similar to Wire Work Caduro, I can't rate this, but to share the tasting note as this is part of the brands I will be distributing.
Wire Work Virgin Oak Finish #8 51.7%
Nose: Brown sugar, vanilla, some minty toothpaste and leather.
Mouth: Sweet and milky, then spice and zesty notes start to appear. And, a hint of tobacco. Simple in the mouth, nothing much to think about.
Finish: Light smokiness and ashy peat still linger around. Decently constructed for a young age whisky.
Simple, easy and not for philosophers.
