TLDR;
Ashy, mineral, leather and blunt.
Nice scale: 80/100
Release NO. 69, from the not-so-secretive Orkney.
Distilled in May 2006, filled to a single hogshead and bottled in October 2022. An outturn of 364 bottles at 51.8% ABV.
If it's not HP, then it will be Scapa. I am locking in my two final answers.
Orkney 2006 16 YO 51.8%
Nose: A sense of brine, somewhat peachy and hints of sweetness hidden below the expressions. Soft/ blunt if you want to use them interchangeably.
Mouth: Soft/blunt start, ashy, mineral and salty and ashy. Some leather expressions as well.
Finish: Dry oaky/woody spice. And salty.
Taste a bit younger than the stated age, maybe about 14-15 YO. Sometimes I doubt if MOM hired a police dog and write the tasting notes for them. And 'softness' is taken for granted nowadays, you can be soft and fruity but it is just soft and blunt.
Nice scale: 80/100
